Description

A classic Greek dessert featuring creamy ricotta cheese sweetened with golden honey, baked to perfection in a crispy phyllo crust.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup pure, raw honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 6 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together ricotta, honey, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  3. Layer phyllo sheets in the pan, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. Pour ricotta mixture over the phyllo layers and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool completely before serving.

Notes

For a Greek twist, use thyme or orange blossom honey. Serve chilled or at room temperature with a drizzle of extra honey.
